"This blog is created especially to PKKTMC to share the view among the toastmaster members and to share the benefits/ knowledge gained from this programme to the public.

Hi..fellow Toastmasters…Do you still remember our 3rd installation that was being held 3 years ago in PKK multimedia room? I’m sure you still remember about it clearly. It was a remarkable and memorable event, of course. Why did I say memorable? Because it was the last installation we had in PKK…

PKKTMC is now six years old. Along the way, Toastmasters teaches us on how to speak confidently before the audiences by giving speeches and not only that, we learnt on how to be a successful leader. Sadly, PKKTMC is running out of members and this year PKKTMC is about to close. Of course, there were a few steps taken to avoid this from happening but again, it’s all up to our Director, if he is willing to help then PKKTMC will shine again.

We had our meeting every week on Friday and occasionally on Thursday if we can’t make it on Friday. It was really inspiring when seeing the new members took the challenge to start their first Ice Breaker speech. As a senior PKK toastmasters members I was inspired by them. I remember the 3 points on how to be successful person delivered by TM Chow(Correct me if I am wrong(^___<). The 1st point is you have to set your goals. What is your short term goal or long term goal? Setting goals will motivate us to keep on moving even at the times when we feel so down. 2nd step is what is your action in order for you to achieve the goals? There was a quote saying, ‘action speaks louder than words’, will you try your best to achieve your goals or will your words louder than actions? Will you turn your dreams into reality? It’s all up to you… And the 3rd point is Stickablity. Will you stick to your goals? Or, will you quit half-way? Your dreams, you decide. It’s your milestones.

Well, here I would like to share with you a video taken during our 3rd installation. It was performed by our very own members. They really did a marvelous job. Enjoy!!!...hasta luego..:)

PKKTMC….2009/2010

We have been through all the obstacles and stand on our feet all this while. We’re lacking of members…the active members is reducing every term but luckily, there were always new members to come. This year, we have to accept the frustrating fact form our Director... For PKKTMC, no more sponsored, no more budget… We have to really step out from our comfort zone and try to experience a little bit hardship just like other Toastmasters Club. It’s not a big deal to pay RM3 or above every time if you want to attend Toastmaster meeting because we still have a place to go to run the meeting. And…it’s free, compared to others. So fellow members, stop complaining but keep on going…We’re much better from other clubs…Some of them even have no place to run their meeting and have to rent a place. So..again, we’re still okay with that.

RECENT ACTIVITY

CONGRATULATION TO JASON WILLIAM VITALES!!!

Recently, the University Toastmasters club succesfully organised the Joint Area K1 and K4 Toastmasters Humorous and Evaluation Speech Contest on September 12, 2009 at the Ahmad Nisfu Theatrette, UMS. Present at the awesome function were District Club Coach Richard Albert Gontusan and Area K1 Governor Sylvia Maten. There were two representatives from our club, Joan Wang Yee Juen for the Humorous Speech Contest and Jason William Vitales for the Evaluation speech Contest. Their performance during that night was really impressive as well as the other representatives from other clubs. Some of them were the first timers but really shown up their talent as a speaker. For the Humorous Speech Contest, a participant is required to entertain the audience by delivering their humorous speech while the Evaluation Speech Contest, a participant have to demonstrate her or his evaluation skills as speaker. Thank you to Ms Gouri for supporting us. For the rest of the members, we really encourage you to witness and support our respective representatives next time because it will certainly open up our mind by seeing them perform.

Winners of the Evaluation Speech Contest:

for K1 - 1. Kathryn Rivai
2. Dora Danny
3. Jason William Vitales

for K4 -
